- ➤ Jennifer Hayworth—once homeless herself—has helped 25 families find housing at Lilac Hills in Kalamazoo over the past two years and recently helped a single mother and her daughter move in on Dec. 10. Her work gives hope to many who need a fresh start. MLive
- ➤ On Christmas Day, Blue Dolphin on South Burdick Street served its 48th annual free meal, offering over 1,500 dishes to community members. Co-owner Peter Stamos said the tradition, started in the 1970s by his grandfather, united longtime fans and newcomers — a true gift of holiday spirit. WWMT
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Officials with the Village of Douglas reported that a dump truck caught fire on Christmas Day and damaged the public works building on Water Street near Wiley Road; the building saw only minor damage, no one was hurt, and the truck was a total loss. WWMT

- ➤ Meraki Coffee opened a new window service at 312 S. Kalamazoo Mall after two years at the Farmer's Market. The shop is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will soon add pastries and breakfast sandwiches (owner Ryan Baker is upgrading the roasting process). MLive

- ➤ Bronson Hospital signed a new contract that keeps all its hospitals, outpatient locations and physician offices in-network for UnitedHealthcare users. The agreement (reached after months-long negotiations) secures access to affordable, quality care in our community. WWMT
