EPA officials toured Trowbridge Township Dam Area in Allegan on Thursday and confirmed that dredging is underway to remove PCB contamination from soil and sediment; they estimate the Kalamazoo River stretch will be PCB-free in six to eight weeks—after which the dam will be removed to restore river flow.

Kalamazoo officials will hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 23, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Kalamazoo Metro Transit, 530 N. Rose St, to explain the $19 million Kalamazoo Avenue Streets for All project — covering construction schedules, traffic detours, access changes and impacts before work starts in July.

Junior Max Johnson hit a walk-off single to give Kalamazoo Christian a 6-5 win in a Division 3 state semifinal Thursday at MSU's McLane Stadium, sending the Comets to their first-ever state final. They will play the winner from Traverse City St. Francis-Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
