- ➤ Local philanthropist and former Kalamazoo College acting president Dr. Timothy Light died at 84, leaving a legacy of promoting Asian studies and community arts through local educational programs (including WMU’s Center for Chinese Studies). WWMT
- ➤ Arcadia Creek Festival Place in downtown Kalamazoo is under renovation after closing earlier this month; soil borings, environmental tests and planned demolitions — funded by ARPA and a $2M Michigan Economic Development Corporation grant — will pave the way for reopening in 2028. WKZO
