Good morning, Kalamazoo. Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 23rd of November.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Local residents supported local artisans at the Holiday Craft Show on Saturday when over 300 booths displayed handmade items from Michigan small businesses. The free-admission event continues today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—offering a festive chance to find unique holiday gifts.  WWMT
  • A video from November 10 — which went viral online — showed staff at Second Reformed Church on Stadium Drive threaten to call police on a homeless woman sleeping in her car, sparking thousands of calls and emails. The church later apologized — saying it had failed both the woman and the community — and increased outreach to local homeless services.  MLive
  • Gus is a friendly 6-month-old mini poodle who was surrendered by a commercial breeder and taken in by the SPCA of Southwest Michigan in coordination with the Bissell Pet Foundation and National Mill Dog Rescue. He is not yet potty trained, so his new family will need to help him learn proper behavior—an extra step for a rewarding pet adoption.  WWMT
