- ➤ The city of Kalamazoo is holding a food drive from Nov. 12 to Nov. 20 to help residents facing food shortages amid SNAP uncertainty due to a federal shutdown—donations benefiting Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes can be dropped off at City Hall during regular hours. WWMT
- ➤ Kalamazoo’s Michigan News Agency, closed since owner Dean Hauck died in February, will reopen for three days this month for a community book sale. The new owner, Kalamazoo Forward Ventures, said sales will run November 22, 28 and 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.—the building will be transitioned in a way that honors its past while planning for its future. - ➤ A memorial service was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Kalamazoo First Assembly of God in Portage to honor late firefighter Charlie Sullivan — who died after a motorcycle crash on Parkview Avenue Nov. 5. A procession began at 12 p.m. on Oakland Drive and ended with a private wake at Fieldstone Grill on Centre Avenue. WWMT
