ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials lifted a precautionary boil water advisory Friday after tests confirmed water safety in parts of Kalamazoo and Comstock Township—this followed repairs on Miller Road that briefly reduced water pressure. WWMT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Michigan Department of Transportation finished a $19M US-131 interchange project in Kalamazoo County that added two ramps to connect the business loop. Community leaders celebrated with a ribbon cutting Friday morning — the upgrade is expected to reduce traffic delays and improve air quality. WWMT
- ➤ The 38-day government shutdown is causing flight delays and cancellations at 40 airports because air traffic controllers and TSA agents are working without pay. Officials advise Kalamazoo travelers to arrive four to five hours early since the current 4 percent flight reduction may increase if the shutdown does not end next week. WWMT
