  • On Oct. 22, families attended a rainy trunk-or-treat at the Gilmore Car Museum where around 1,500 children gathered in 46-degree weather, and local police and fire departments helped hand out candy—organizers said candy was refilled until the event ended at 7:30 p.m.  MLive

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Owners Joey and Jenna Gamrat moved both downtown restaurants to new locations—The Grazing Table relocated to 123 E. South St due to the sale of Kalamazoo State Theatre and Copper's Dog House reopened at 348 S. Kalamazoo Mall after a break-in—and both remain in the downtown area, with The Grazing Table set to open its larger space the last week of October.  MLive

  • Dozens of residents met Thursday night to oppose a rezoning proposal by Drive & Shine Car Wash to develop 19 acres near Asylum Lake Nature Preserve—local advocates raised concerns about increased traffic, water runoff, and loss of historic landscape. They urged community members to attend the Nov. 6 planning commission meeting to share their views.  WWMT
