- ➤ Vintage electronics and ham radio enthusiasts gathered Oct. 4 in Kalamazoo for the Vintage Electronics Expo where they bought, sold, and traded vintage computers, radios and record players — a partnership between the Kalamazoo Amateur Radio Club and Kalamazoo Hamfest. WWMT
- ➤ Peppa is a playful husky puppy at the SPCA of Southwest Michigan looking for her forever home. Executive director Katie Timber said the pup is about 4 to 5 months old and may do best in a house without young children—Peppa appeared in a studio on October 3. WWMT
- ➤ Members of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi began a 10-day kayak trip on Saturday from Saylors Landing in Marshall to mark 15 years since the Kalamazoo River oil spill—honoring ancestral routes and the river’s recovery. The journey will end on Oct. 13 for Indigenous Peoples’ Day and shows ongoing care for Michigan’s waterways. WWMT
