- ➤ Residents at Milwood Estates mobile home park in Kalamazoo kept buckets outside damaged trailers this week to collect rainwater for flushing toilets—raising concerns about decay and rodent issues as they fear for their home's future. MLive
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 6, the Holland Fire Department responded to a chemical spill at LG Energy Solutions at 875 E 48th Street in Holland—15 people were taken to local hospitals for evaluation and responders secured the area while cleanup continued, with no life-threatening injuries reported. MLive
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 27-year-old man was charged with assault with intent to murder for stabbing his father multiple times during an argument in Schoolcraft Township at 8:50 p.m. on Sept. 3—leaving the 49-year-old with non-life-threatening injuries—and he fled the scene before returning at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 4 and being arrested while hiding in a ditch. - ➤ Kalamazoo police responded to a non-fatal shooting in the 600 block of Mabel Street Friday night—officials collected evidence and asked residents to avoid the area. MLive
- ➤ A 24-year-old man is in custody at Kalamazoo County Jail after deputies responded at 11:16 p.m. Friday to reports that he broke into Cooper Market on Douglas Avenue in Cooper Township using a brick to shatter the glass front door, steal merchandise and flee on foot, and the store has since reopened.
