- ➤ A nearly 80-year-old West Michigan furniture company, Talsma Furniture, broke ground yesterday on a new 50,000-square-foot showroom at 6169 West Main St. in Oshtemo Township—its fifth location scheduled to open in spring 2026. MLive
- ➤ Aviation Supplies & Academics—an 85-year-old aviation firm founded by a Boeing engineer—will move its headquarters from Seattle to 817 Walbridge St. in Kalamazoo on Dec 2. The company will update its warehouse for global operations and launch a retail power shop as it partners with local aviation programs. MLive

- ➤ Eric Andrew Newman, who said he shot his neighbor Ronald Erickson in self-defense on Sept. 29 in Schoolcraft, was found guilty of second-degree murder. MLive
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The NRC changed the designation of Palisades Nuclear Plant from decommissioning to operating, allowing repairs and fuel delivery before a planned restart by the end of the year. Officials and Congressman Huizenga explained the tour showed safety upgrades and nearly 2,000 jobs created—promising economic benefits for Southwest Michigan. WWMT
