GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Attorney General Dana Nessel said Michigan could receive up to $24.5M from a $720M nationwide settlement with eight opioid makers—this deal also bars the companies from promoting opioid products and limits the strength of prescribed pills.  WWMT
  • Laketown Township authorized its manager to start a rental contract that would let an Afghan refugee family live in the historic Wolters House on 147th Ave.—the family will pay $1,600 a month including utilities for a six-month lease as the township gathers details for a possible sale.  WWMT
