- ➤ On Saturday, June 28, island vibes filled Arcadia Creek Festival Site when the final day of the Kalamazoo Caribbean Festival offered live music, Caribbean food, and vendors celebrating Caribbean culture. Music by Seven Generation Roots Tribe, Kwame Bediako, DJ Conscious, and reggae star Anthony B—MCs Darius Mitchell and David Reggae Dave Alert kept the crowd energized as tickets cost $10 at the gate. - ➤ In May, the Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon raised thousands for local charities and brought nearly $2 million to the downtown economy through the efforts of participants, volunteers, sponsors and vendors. Registration for next year's races begins Tuesday with early bird pricing and bundle options for Run Camp training. WWMT

- ➤ Ranked choice voting is moving closer to Michigan ballots as the Board of Canvassers approved language for a proposed constitutional amendment that would let voters rank candidates in most elections. Rank MI Vote must collect 446,198 valid signatures in the next six months — more than 5,000 volunteers are already enlisted to help, which will put the amendment on the November ballot if successful.
