- ➤ The Kalamazoo Growlers and Comerica Bank have teamed up for the fourth year to fight food insecurity in West Michigan—since partnering they have provided nearly 200,000 meals and over $32,000 to the South Michigan Food Bank, and food drop-offs are now available at seven Comerica Bank locations while a food drive is set for July 25 at 9 a.m. WWMT

- ➤ Cousins Maine Lobster brought its new food truck to Kalamazoo today at Wax Wings Brewing Co.—it will serve Maine lobster rolls, tacos, grilled cheese and more while visiting other local spots with a grand opening tomorrow at St. Julian Winery and a stop on Sunday at Brewery Outre. MLive

- ➤ Western Michigan University Board of Trustees honored retiring president Dr. Edward Montgomery with several awards for his 30 years in academics and record student achievements. His legacy will live on as the Invisible Need Project is renamed the Montgomery Essential Needs Program. WWMT
- ➤ Western Michigan University raised its tuition by 4.6% for fall 2025—adding $702 to the standard rate while students in business, engineering and fine arts will pay 5% more after the Board of Trustees approved the change on June 26. The update also increases a student assessment fee by $14 and boosts financial aid by 6.2% as part of a revised $425.2 million budget. MLive

- ➤ The City of Portage is considering proposals from three waste companies—Best Way, Republic and Waste Management—to select a single trash hauler that will reduce road damage and lower costs. Officials said the decision will come in July—cutting the number of trucks from six to two. WWMT
