- ➤ A historic 1905 photo of Kalamazoo Hospital was returned to Bronson Healthcare on June 4 after a Goodwill employee found it at a donation center and set it aside for officials. The photo shows a horse and buggy and early hospital staff at the corner of Cedar and John streets (a key link to local history) and will be restored for future display in the 125th anniversary celebration. - ➤ Friends of Kalamazoo Historic Cemeteries is leading a clean-up project tomorrow at Mountain Home Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. and will hold additional preservation events at Riverside Cemetery on July 12 and again at Mountain Home Cemetery on August 9—providing tools, supplies, and training for volunteers. - ➤ Bell’s Oberon Light, a 99-calorie beer with 4% ABV, became the top craft launch in the Great Lakes and ranked No.-7 nationally despite its late-March release. Younger drinkers aged 21-25 helped fuel its rise, and the beer will be available until September while supplies last. MLive

- ➤ A woman died after suffering gunshot wounds in a domestic dispute in Kalamazoo on Thursday afternoon—police said the 55-year-old suspect, known to the victim, shot himself when officers arrived and is in critical condition. WKZO

- ➤ Dan Baker, a Hastings resident, bought Brian Wilson’s yellow Corvette in 1993 — it is a piece of Beach Boys history from the famous musician who died on Wednesday. Baker said he shows off the car to honor Wilson’s lasting legacy. WWMT
- ➤ On Saturday, June 14, Kalamazoo’s Bronson Park at 200 S. Rose St will host a free family celebration from 1 to 7 p.m. with food, music, dance, and live performances. After the event, an Afrobeats and R&B afterparty for adults 25 and older runs from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.—tickets cost $20. MLive
