  • On March 30, a severe storm downed a tree in Climax Township that crashed through a minivan, killing three children from the Pike family and injuring three others. Neighbors organized a fundraiser—featuring a dinner, raffle and concert at the local American Legion—to help cover medical bills and recovery expenses.  WWMT

CULTURE NEWS

  • News Channel 3/WWMT turned 75 Sunday and is launching special coverage today—reviewing its history from its beginnings as an experimental radio station in the 1920s to its debut as West Michigan’s CBS affiliate on June 1, 1950. The station will share additional historical stories on-air and online in the coming months.  WWMT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On May 22, KRESA unveiled a $100M Career Connect Campus where students from nine school districts can take career classes in a 162,000-square-foot building that feels like a college campus. The building offers tools and resources for jobs in fields such as plumbing, farming and medicine—helping students get ready for their chosen careers.  MLive
