- ➤ Residents in Wildwood Off Main got an email on May 27 telling upstairs tenants to vacate after an inspection condemned all 292 units for unsafe wooden stairs and decks; though caution tape now blocks access, county officials say there is no legal eviction order and repair permits have been secured. - ➤ Kik Pool at +Upjohn Park, 1018 Walter St+ will officially open on Wednesday, June 3 for the summer season and run daily through August 9; seasonal and day passes along with aqua fitness classes starting Tuesday, June 16 offer more options for visitors. WWMT

- ➤ Apoptosis Brewing Company remains open at 3811 S. Westnedge Ave after the building was listed for sale+lease on Friday, May 29. Owners Andrew Birr and Dustin Johnson said the one-year lease means customers can still enjoy live jazz, trivia and craft beer specials. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Western Michigan University offers eligible senior faculty members and academic chairs a voluntary separation program that pays 50% to 100% of annual base salary to help reduce costs while addressing workforce challenges. Applications open Sept. 1 and close Sept. 30, with separation effective Dec. 31 (WMU). WWMT

- ➤ Portage City Council approved public infrastructure work for a 21-home expansion in the Oakland Farms No. 4 area at Honey Creek Trail and Loganberry Lane on Tuesday, May 26. The work is expected to finish by June 30 + Hyland Associates LLC will then seek state subdivision approval before selling the lots. MLive
