ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On May 27, 200 gallons discharged from a Wallace Avenue manhole when crews cleared a blockage by 3 a.m. and restored flow, and motorists are advised to wash their vehicles if they drove through runoff.  WWMT

HEALTH NEWS

  • Rx Kids will expand its cash prescription program to Galesburg, Oshtemo, and Wakeshma townships beginning June 1; pregnant mothers can apply to receive $1,500 during pregnancy and $500 per month for the first six months of their child’s life (participants must be at least 16 weeks pregnant and newborns must be born on or after June 1).  WWMT

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Wildwood Off Main apartments were condemned after safety code violations — residents received short notice to evacuate on Wednesday night while community groups stepped in with meals and support. OpenPath Investments confirmed ownership and said repairs will start only after all second-floor residents are safely relocated.  WWMT

  • Western Michigan football will open its 2026 season with a nationally televised primetime game against Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Big House, marking their first matchup since 2021.  MLive
