GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents on Egleston Avenue, Bank Street and East Stockbridge Avenue had been under a boil water advisory that was lifted Saturday after bacteriological tests confirmed the water was safe following repairs that caused a temporary loss of pressure; the city worked with the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Service Department to verify the safety standards.  MLive

  • A new senior apartment complex called 530 Rose in downtown Kalamazoo built for $20M has welcomed its first residents—seniors 55 and older—since January. The 64-unit building rents from $475 to $1,600 a month and offers in-unit appliances, ADA-accessible features, and shared lounges as it remains about half full.  MLive
