  • Open Roads Bike Program is raising $750K to renovate its new facility at 914 East Vine Street in the Edison neighborhood. The project will turn a long-vacant 10,000 sqft building into a bike hub and youth center.  WWMT

BUSINESS NEWS

  • San Francisco Latin America Cuisine opened in Nov. 2025 at Battle Creek Executive Airport, offering creative Latin dishes with a unique twist. The restaurant is on the second floor of the WACO Aircraft building (3 miles east of downtown) and serves brunch on weekends while waiting for its liquor license.  MLive

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Residents in Kalamazoo and Sturgis drive into Indiana to save nearly 70 cents per gallon at the pump as local gas prices near $5. Some state lawmakers are considering a gas tax holiday to ease the high fuel costs.  WWMT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • After a nine-and-a-half-hour meeting, the Natural Resources Commission voted to limit hunters to one buck per season and remove the restricted firearm zone, with the hunting rule effective in March and the firearm change set for November + local retailers expect shifts in firearm choices and mixed reactions among hunters.  WWMT

  • Wildwood Off Main property management sent a release agreement to residents after the complex was condemned last Thursday, which lets them avoid termination fees if they vacate by June 15 and sign a confidentiality clause + many tenants claim its terms are one-sided.  WWMT
