ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Kalamazoo nearly jumped to $5—a rise of almost a dollar since last week—according to Gas Buddy. Statewide, prices increased due to a BP refinery outage and higher oil costs, and further volatility is likely. WWMT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The only item on today's county ballot is a millage renewal to fund special education programs across nine local districts — the measure costs homeowners about $9 a month while meeting a legal requirement. Superintendent Dedrick Martin says a yes vote will not raise tax bills. WKZO
- ➤ Schools in Comstock, Galesburg Augusta and Vicksburg are on the ballot today with bond issues asking for $23.7M, $11.2M and $64M respectively. Voters can cast ballots (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) while reviewing 187 millage proposals from 67 counties. WKZO
