CRIME NEWS

  • Kalamazoo police investigated a series of violent attacks from last year tied to meth use, mental health issues and homelessness after a suspect was arrested on charges of assault with intent to murder, and they are now expanding the Community Service Team to help deescalate crises — officials say more support is needed to fix the broken system.  MLive

  • On Tuesday, voters in the Parchment School District will decide on a $36.4 million bond issue for school repairs+ voters in part of Otsego will vote on a $46.5 million school bond request. Residents in Alamo Township will consider a three-quarters mill property tax increase+ polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.  WKZO
