  • Gwendolyn Hooker built three tiny homes on Northside to provide affordable housing for people facing hurdles with criminal records and substance abuse histories; she plans to build more tiny home hubs soon.  MLive

BUSINESS NEWS

  • TC Scoops, a new ice cream shop planned by Roy and Jess Holmberg, will open this May at 6894 Texas Drive in Texas Township using local suppliers. The business features two walk-up windows and outdoor seating (operating April 15–Oct. 15) and will employ local teens.  MLive

HEALTH NEWS

  • A water main break on Summit Avenue has led to a precautionary boil water advisory for residents in parts of Summit, Denner, and West North streets, requiring them to boil tap water for two minutes+use bottled water. City officials expect the advisory to lift by Tuesday.  WWMT
