  • Local Namsan Korean Restaurant on South Westnedge Avenue and Maple Street — a family-run eatery serving authentic Korean meals since 2018 — will permanently close May 31 due to rising shipping fees and rent hikes that have made operations unsustainable.  WWMT

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Gilmore Car Museum opens a new exhibit today featuring eight original GM Motorama dream cars from the 1950s & 1960s. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets are available on its website.  WWMT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Michigan Works! sent a letter to state Congress asking them to reject the Make America Skilled Again proposal (which could cut funding by 26% and force some local office closures) as it risks essential workforce services for veterans, people with disabilities and job seekers. The organization plans to continue working with legislators to secure necessary resources.  WWMT

  • Jesse Kiiskinen, a 21-year-old Red Wings prospect, will join the Grand Rapids Griffins for the rest of the season and playoffs after finishing his season with HPK in Liiga (recording 17 goals and 28 points in 54 games). His standout 2024-25 season in Finland boosts his transition.  MLive
