- ➤ Kalamazoo police have launched a Community Service Team under Sgt. Fidel Mireles to help houseless residents secure shelters, job support & city-funded bus rides. The effort, which began in December 2025, partners with local agencies to break the cycle of chronic homelessness. MLive
- ➤ Families from emergency shelters will move into hotel rooms until the government funded Landing Place shelter opens; officials plan an April 30 ribbon cutting with the facility debuting about a week later to support homeless households. MLive
