- ➤ Feeding America West Michigan reported that the USDA paused delivery of 32 truckloads of food—about 600,000 pounds valued at $1.1 million—scheduled to arrive between April and July, leaving the food bank to seek donations and purchase supplies. The organization is working to keep its distribution centers supplied as state and federal reviews continue. MLive
- ➤ The old brick buildings on Fulford Street in Edison have been transformed over the past 10 years into a makers hub called Jerico+ a space where local shops and craftspeople work and plan events like the Jerico Faire on Nov. 29. The Gasts now consider expanding the hub if a nearby industrial building goes to auction. MLive

- ➤ KDPS is asking for public help in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Shaughqual Laqia Anderson on March 18 on Cadillac Street when he was shot at 10:43 p.m. and pronounced dead at 11:13 p.m.—the department urges anyone with information or video footage to contact the Criminal Investigations Division or submit an anonymous tip. - ➤ On Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m., a Kalamazoo deputy pulled over a driver on Gull Road after spotting a stolen vehicle, and when an aggressive dog jumped out and repeatedly attacked, the deputy fired his gun three times—killing the dog as confirmed by body camera video released Tuesday. - ➤ Shawna Kroeger was sentenced to 18 to 30 years in prison after pleading no contest to second-degree murder and second-degree arson for killing James Travis during a June 2022 robbery—court officials confirmed the sentence. MLive

- ➤ OutFront Kalamazoo announced that the second-largest Pride event in Michigan will be held on June 6 and June 7 at Arcadia Creek Festival Place in downtown Kalamazoo from 2 p.m. until midnight.
