Gryphon Place is offering a new program that connects Kalamazooans with agencies to help stop gun violence – the Community Information Exchange takes referrals from the 211 service and local navigators to meet residents’ needs.

The program is based at their new facility on 505 Park Street – officials say it will also build a database so local groups can more easily coordinate services.

A speeding SUV crashed at a Kalamazoo gas station when it veered off South Westnedge Avenue and hit two motorcycles, two vehicles, and a gas pump, injuring seven people—two of whom were taken to hospital, with one in critical condition.

A 23 year old man was shot and killed in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood on March 18 and was taken to a local hospital by a private vehicle.

Kalamazoo County plans a $40 million youth sports center to host basketball and volleyball tournaments and create new opportunities for local youth.
