ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday, Mar. 6, an EF2 tornado struck Edwardsburg when a five-minute radar gap prevented warnings, killing 12-year-old Silas Anderson and injuring others while an EF3 tornado hit Union City, with officials noting the rapid storm left little time for alerts.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sprinkle Road will close starting Monday through July for sewer work, blocking the segment between Romence Road - East S Avenue. Traffic detours will direct vehicles via East P Avenue to South 29th Street and back to Sprinkle Road for routes toward Vicksburg and Kalamazoo.  WKZO
  • City officials have delayed construction at Arcadia Creek Festival Place to fall so that Kalamazoo Pride, Caribbean Festival, Blues Festival and Canadiana Fest can proceed uninterrupted. The $14 million redesign with a pedestrian bridge, performance stages, playground and water features remains fenced while crews begin soil tests + permitting.  MLive
