- ➤ The Gazette editor launched 'Your Kalamazoo Gazette This Week,' a weekly email newsletter that bundles local news from new restaurants to school updates and more, and it goes out every Friday at 6 a.m. to keep the community informed. MLive
- ➤ Local organizers announced the third 'No Kings' rally will take place on March 28 from 12 to 2 p.m. on North Drake Road with a community food drive. The event will begin with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the northeast corner of South Drake Road and Arboretum Parkway. WWMT
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Former fashion designer Boram Heo now runs Ram's Bakery, baking Korean rolls, buns and pastries at Just Fresh Sushi in downtown Kalamazoo Tuesday through Friday. Her treats were sold at Pacific Rim Foods on March 12 and are available seasonally at the Texas Township farmers market. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sprinkle Road between Zylman Avenue and S Avenue will be closed starting Monday, Mar. 16 for sanitary sewer updates and will remain closed through July with detour options provided (southbound traffic detoured north of Romence Road and Bishop Avenue). MLive
- ➤ Due to forecast severe weather, the planned overnight power outages affecting 3,300 Wayland customers were rescheduled to March 19, 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. Consumers Energy and ITC Michigan will perform equipment upgrades to improve electric service. MLive

- ➤ MI Grounds, a brunch-themed play cafe with a Montessori-style play area and family dining, opened in late 2023 at 124 E. Bridge St. in Plainwell and held play sessions from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday. Owner Rae Barlow plans to add community events — offering more family fun. MLive
