- ➤ A Michigan State Police report showed that traffic crashes in Kalamazoo fell to 2,339 in 2025 (a 24.4% drop from the pre-pandemic average) after safety measures including road diets and roundabouts were introduced. WWMT
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Consumers Energy will upgrade a Galesburg substation with overnight work that may cut power to about 1,200 customers from North 37th Street to South 38th Street starting at 11 p.m. March 7 until 7 a.m. March 8 — a backup outage is planned for March 14. WWMT
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ WMU hockey and basketball will move downtown when the Kalamazoo Event Center opens in fall 2027 (the privately funded venue covers 453,000 sqft and seats 6,500-8,000 while hosting sports, concerts, and community events). WWMT
