  • Goose, a dog rescued from a Michigan puppy mill in 2022, made his debut yesterday at the Livigno Olympics in Italy after a cross-country journey from Michigan to California and met a well-known snowboarder from the Upper Peninsula.  WWMT

CRIME NEWS

  • Kalamazoo artist Mara Minott, missing since November 2025, was found safe Tuesday afternoon in British Columbia, Canada; her family expressed relief while officials confirmed no additional details.  WWMT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kalamazoo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Darrin Slade will host two community sessions to review the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. The sessions are set for Monday, Feb. 23 at 6:00 p.m. at Milwood Magnet School and Monday, Mar. 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Linden Grove Middle School.  WKZO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Kalamazoo County commission has formed a public art committee to curate a mural and art wrap for the county's new parking ramp. The artwork, which will face Martin Luther King Jr. Park + Amtrak rails, may become a signature landmark if local artists secure the commission.  WKZO
  • Kalamazoo County held a closed session last night on a proposal for stewardship of the Asylum Lake Preserve and approved a memorandum to begin talks with Western Michigan University. Public hearings will be held before final decisions on the 274-acre site are made.  WKZO
