- ➤ Pizzawala’s is set to open mid-March at 3620 W. Michigan Ave near Munchie Mart + Western Michigan University campus. Kalamazoo native Gurwinder Singh, a Kalamazoo Central High School graduate, leads the new fusion restaurant offering Indian-inspired pizza with unique flavors and halal chicken. MLive
- ➤ Denny’s closed its Grand Rapids & Kalamazoo locations, now removed from the website after the franchisee filed for chapter 11. The shutdowns are part of a nationwide restructuring plan to close underperforming sites. MLive
- ➤ Two Denny's restaurants are permanently closed, including the Cork Street location (near I-94 in Kalamazoo) and the Plainfield Avenue NE branch (close to I-96 in Grand Rapids); they were removed from the chain's website after franchise owner Denn-Ohio filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2023.
