- ➤ Kalamazoo native Pasha Khosravani will open 5th Street Burger this spring at 3023 Oakland Drive in the former Treat Street space that closed last July. The restaurant will offer fresh smashburgers with fun toppings like grilled pineapple and PB and PJ, and Khosravani will lead a team of 12-15 workers as he brings his Arizona expertise back home. - ➤ On Monday, Feb. 2, Bishop Edward M. Lohse announced plans for a major restructuring of governance and a new strategic plan for Kalamazoo County Catholic schools at the Diocesan Pastoral Center. Diocesan officials said the changes aim to guide the future operations of the schools. WWMT

- ➤ Road officials in Mottville Township are testing a recycled tire project as a flexible base layer to extend the life of a residential road. The pilot project costing nearly $118,000 is supported by state and local grants and will be monitored over the next five to six years. MLive
